Meet the Team: Char
One of the original founders of Conjured, Char discovered her love and talent for programming while in high school, and built her first company at the age of 15.
She spent two years at Harvey Mudd College studying theoretical math before dropping out to devote her full attention to building SocialEngine, a white-label social networking platform. As its CTO, she bootstrapped SocialEngine to profitability, took the company through TechStars Boulder in 2011 (where she met her Conjured co-founder Nick), and eventually sold it to the digital marketing agency Room 214.
Char then became the CEO and founder of The Cotery, a venture-backed platform for artists and designers to design, pre-sell, and manufacture unique limited-run apparel without the upfront costs and complications of traditional manufacturing.
After sunsetting The Cotery, Char joined forces with Nick to create Conjured. After years of the startup rat-race, they deliberately built Conjured with the intention of finding and providing freedom through software.
Char is a problem-solver at heart and loves coding with a passion. At Conjured, she is responsible for designing the software and database architecture, building new features, and fixing bugs. You might even occasionally see her helping customers in our support channel; customer-focus is one of our core values, after all.
In her free time, Char serves on the board of the American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education, and enjoys skiing, hiking with her pup, and drinking Old Fashioneds with good friends.
